Marth Mariam Church at Kuravilangad possesses many historical and traditional values. This is one of the rarest Churches in the world (like the one in Lourdes in France) where the site for the construction of the building was shown by none other than the Blessed Mother of the Saviour of the humanity who is affectionately and devotionally called as 'Muthiamma'! Ever since the creation of the Church in the first century, it has been serving as a place of solace for the numerous people who throng this Pilgrim Center without any discrimination of caste, creed, religion, region or position.
Great Bells
The other important attraction is the 3 Gigantic bells which considered as the biggest church bell in Asia. Which is worth seeing. The main attraction is the moon nombu feast you could see entirely different customs. These three bells which were brought from Germany in 1911 which weigh 1829 Kg,1317 Kg ,866 Kg respectively. One of them is more than 6 feet height. There is another bell which was brought from Portugal with an inscription.
Open Air Cross
The Open air cross is of 34” feet height and was installed on 1575 AD . There are 124 lamps in the open air cross. It is a single block granite cross is located in front of the church.
